ITU-T G.hn spec endorsed

December 22, 2016

HomeGrid Forum is a worldwide non-profit organisation, which is currently promoting International Telecommunication Union’s Standardization Sector (ITU-T) G.hn standardisation attempts for next generation home networking.

It announced today that ITU-T has gained consent for the PHY and architecture sectors of the ITU-T G.hn arrangement, at its Geneva assembly help at the United Nations, between the 1st and the 12th of December.

The ITU is an international standards group that is under the backing of the United Nations.

Containing over 185 countries within the organisation, the ITU sets the regulations for networking at home.

This Consent expresses major support for G.hn and aids in establishing a single worldwide networking benchmark for the ever increasing number of home digital consumers.

The G.hn regulation aims to provide one type of incorporated technology for the use within a wired network at home, that addresses vital issues for consumers as well as service providers and the manufacturers or electronics.

Through one global regulation system, G.hn will unify the networking of content and devices over any coax cable, phone, and power lines.

Alongside this, ITU allows the service providers to distribute new services more cost effectively.

It allows consumer electronics manufacturers to distribute devices that are fast and powerful for connecting various different kinds and types of entertainment and security products in and around the home, and this makes the process of installation and buying much easier.
